Larry Dignan wrote a great article about the current situation of traditional data center storage systems and the likely future in the cloud.

The storage industry already feels, that there is a change ongoing and the customers starting to be hesitant moving forward the tradtional way:

"We saw customers become more conservative around refreshing their traditional infrastructures as they plan their IT transformations," said EMC CEO Joe Tucci.
